Meet Our Instructional Coach

Amanda Cooper, Instructional Coach

Hello Harmony Family!  My name is Amanda Cooper and I am eagerly anticipating this school year as it will be a very exciting educational journey for you, your child, the staff of this school, as well as myself!

I have been a part of the Harmony family since I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2005. I taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, as well as 4th before I became the Instructional Coach. This will be my seventh year serving in this incredible role, as I work alongside teachers and students helping them learn and grow. In 2011 I was named Teacher of the Year at Harmony Elementary and in 2015 was recognized as Kentucky’s WHAS ExCel winner.  I am extremely thankful to be a part of a school that challenges me to be the best teacher and leader I can be. I absolutely love this school and am thrilled to be a part of this amazing team and community!

I have lived in Louisville for most of my life and am very excited to be a part of this growing Oldham County community.  The most exciting news from this past year is that my husband and I welcomed our son, Bentley, into the world!   My husband and I both enjoy pouring into our youth, as I have spent 17 years in public education and he serves as an assistant swim coach at St. Xavier High School in Louisville.  I graduated from Ballard High School in Jefferson County and then graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education in December of 2005. In May of 2012, I graduated from Bellarmine University with my Master's Degree, specializing in Literacy.  In 2017, I continued my learning journey and received my National Board Certification specializing in Literacy. Most Harmony Huskies know I have a Starbucks cup in hand regularly, but also in my spare time enjoy taking pictures, painting, reading, watching movies, hiking, watching and playing basketball, or enjoying a nice dinner on one of the beautiful patios of our incredible restaurants here in Louisville.

I am so thankful to be a part of this amazing community of teachers, staff, students, and parents!  Happy to be a Husky and am excited to be back together soon.
